Golden Oak Midwives are thrilled to be joining the esteemed team at Sutter East Bay Medical Foundation.
Our new “home base” will be 2500 Milvia St, Berkeley.Please call and request appointments with Gwen or Ellie at 510- 204-5600. We will be seeing clients with Sutter beginning March 2024. If you need an appointment prior to March, clients can initiate care with one of our Sutter midwife colleagues and then switch to our schedules once we have completed our orientation.
Our care, as Sutter midwives, will continue to include evidence-based prenatal and postpartum care. All of our clients will birth at Alta Bates, in Berkeley. Our scope of practice will now be more comprehensive and include well-women GYN care! Come find us for your annual well-women visit and/or GYN appointments. We hope to see you at our new home.

A Letter to the Golden Oak Community,
Ten years ago, we set out to expand midwifery care options in the East Bay. We did this by promoting a comprehensive model of care that addressed the whole person and family- Golden Oak Midwives. Since its inception we’ve had the privilege of catching hundreds of babies. Our model of care has been instrumental in the expansion of midwifery services in our community. There are more midwives in Oakland and Berkeley than ever before. Golden Oak is incredibly proud to have been an integral part of this growth. Now, the next chapter begins. Starting February 2024, we are joining the team of midwives at Sutter East Bay Medical Group.
We know this change is challenging, especially for our current families. We believe this opportunity will allow us to achieve the goal of expanding access to midwifery care. Our hope is that each of you will continue your care with us and the Sutter midwives, not only for pregnancy, but for all of your well-women and reproductive health needs.
NEW! WELL-WOMEN CARE! Starting in March, you can come see us for care when you are “not pregnant”. Come see us for your annual exam and other GYN appointments at Sutter! The number to book these visits is 510-204-5600.
During this transition, we are here to answer your questions to the best of our ability. We thank you wholeheartedly for the trust and support you have given Golden Oak over the years. We look forward to continuing our relationship with each of you in our new home.

A Warm and Welcoming Space
We are located in the heart of Oakland and want to welcome you to our beautiful space.
Our office features a cozy living room, two beautiful exam rooms, and a private lactation suite.
We invite you to circle up at our farm table for a cup of tea, peruse the lending library and try on something from our upcycle maternity rack.
Other suites in the building are shared with like-minded perinatal professionals--physical therapist, acupuncturist, massage therapist, and more. Our office serves as a hub for all your maternity care.
